Luxury Headrest

On our recent camping trip, the pillows we brought for comfort all had that certain musty scent: Eau de Camping. Down feathers and dewy Canadian forest air do not mix.

The one pillow that survived the journey was the incredible buckwheat toddler pillow ($84) from honeydumplings®. Because buckwheat is naturally hypo-allergenic, mould-resistant and anti-bacterial, these cushions can’t be beat.

A perfectly-sized, cushy and eco-friendly fibrefill insert is wrapped in a quilted, buckwheat hull shell and then stuffed in a soft bamboo pillow case for maximum comfort. Our cantankerous toddler slept like a baby thanks to the soothing sound of the hulls rubbing against one another (a full day of fresh air and beach time probably didn’t hurt either).

Best known for their award-winning buckwheat baby mat ($88), honeyDumplings creators Tracey Collinson and Louise Kean expanded their line of natural sleep accessories to include the pillows, as well as organic cotton and bamboo blankets (baby $44, toddler $58). honeyDumplings’ quality items all wash and dry remarkably well and the cost can be justified by their durability (perfect for passing down to the next kid).

We can rest easy while their angelic heads sleep on toxin-free luxury. (If only the pillows warded off mosquitoes, too!)
